I think that forum owners does not properly advertise their forums, for example here on ProBoards, or anywhere else.
What do you think about this? What are the reasons for it?

Hm, one of the first reasons is because they don't use the primary benefit of this network and it is a global user account that makes it possible to register without problems on all other forums and thereby indicate the presence and existence of their own forum.

I agree. It's quite logical that a brand new forum can not become operational if there are no new and active members, as well as some old forum that has faltered. And it is first necessary to find discussants, especially if you start from the beginning.

It is impossible to find or to attract new discussants if you don't participate in the places where they exist - in the forum neighborhood. A majority of people are not willing to do something like that.

A majority of people are not willing to do something like that. Someone has to do the first step in the exchange of a few posts, or to become a member of a forum that already exists. The Support or any other forums are good for this, where it's usually happening between users who don't know each other from before.

After more than a full decade of writing on various forums (local and foreign equally) I can conclude only thing - most people don't know what's the point of virtual communication.
It is, unfortunately, undeniable fact..
