A few days ago it was announced that WhatsApp will share some user data (phone number, profile photo and name, online status and whether you are online, and when you last saw and read messages) with Facebook, and here's how you can stop WhatsApp from sharing your info.
Android
1) Open WhatsApp on your phone; 2) Tap the action overflow button in the upper right corner and select Settings then Account; 3) Tap and uncheck the check mark to the right of Share my account info;
iOS
1) Open WhatsApp on your phone; 2) Tap the Settings tab in the lower right corner and select Account; 3) Tap and uncheck the check mark to the right of Share my account info;

Sure. Is there any proof for these claims? At least a billion of Facebook and WhatsApp users are computer illiterate. What are we going to do with the others, those who belong to the "plus"? One regular statement is not enough for them to blindly believe in such sensitive things as security flaw of one of the most popular applications.
